I think most people understand it, but even referring to it as a type of “porn” normalizes it to some extent.

The politically correct term CSAM is to differentiate it from ordinary porn which is legal and at least somewhat socially acceptable and ensure that people understand that when children are involved, it is always abusive. The terms mean the same thing, but being precise with language is important.
Porn is a legal thing that normal people enjoy. The term CSAM takes a stance that it is always abuse. I think they are basically interchangeable but CSAM is the currently preferred term.
What would you say is the difference? I feel like the terms are interchangeable. The comment you replied to didn’t give the exact abbreviation but it gave the essence of what is meant by the picture.
It’s not easy for people to escape a submerged vehicle in still body of water, especially if the vehicle flips. Add in a raging river tumbling everything around, pushing everywhere… Even if you were able to escape the vehicle I don’t think your chances of making it to shore from the middle would be good.
It seems likely. That vehicle was just swallowed by a flooding river. It’s technically possible the occupants escaped, but unlikely.
This seems largely symbolic. I don’t see Apple or Wikipedia paying, and paying might even be illegal at this point.
There are some valid criticisms in this post. I agree that for large programs Python is a poor choice, but I think 100 lines is arbitrary small. I would probably start thinking about a different language at maybe 500-1000 lines. There’s a lot of really useful stuff you can do in a program that size.
The post also fails to mention some of the things python is good at. It’s good at clearly and concisely expressing intent, and rapidly iterating, and it has a huge number of libraries available to do almost anything easily.
If all I knew about java was some of the garbage projects I’ve inherited over the years I might hate it too.
They may live mostly in trees but it’s not uncommon for them to fly down into human reach.
