An incredible eye-opening article pointing out the hypocrisy of capitalists due to their selective selective and hypocritical indignation. I think the democrats do have good intentions and fail to highlight the hypocrisy of the pro-life anti-abortion movements against the suffering of the ones already living. Those single moms or, the disabled or elderly not having access to proper healthcare, whilst seeing the social security offices closed by DOGE. Advocating for protecting the children against ‘exploring which gender they feel most comfortable with’, but yet protecting a child trafficking ring and pedophiles.

I don’t even think the left is doing this purposefully… they just like myself seem often ‘trapped’ inside the loop of choosing sides, being left or right. Everything seems to be black or white these days, with no shades of grey or nuance.

Personally, however, I do not think it is a good idea to promote surgical gender reassignment or hormone therapies for minors. If I use myself as an example, I was desperate for a sense of belonging during puberty; I often felt different, rejected, and lonely. I could have easily felt at home in an open-minded group where peers discussed gender identity, especially if those issues were presented to me as a solution. I definitely would have seen that as an opportunity to fit into the LGBTQ+ community, which I always perceived as a more accepting and open-minded sphere. Now in my thirties, however, I am glad I was never part of the crowd hanging out under the bridge smoking weed; I am glad I never got a tattoo, and I now am absolutely certain that I am a man attracted to women. While I did experiment with men during puberty, it seems dangerous to me to begin any transition at such an early age; some changes cannot be undone, especially while the human body is still undergoing natural development and hormonal regulation.

That does not mean I am transphobic; the person who is currently my closest friend is in transition, and I would defend her choice against anyone insulting or mocking her. I actually think she would agree with me on this point; I will ask her the next time I see her!

Lastly, this does not mean the Republicans are not also using ‘transphobia’ to rally people against one another. The article is entirely right in that sense; they simply want to create a common ‘minority enemy’ for the unhappy group of mostly working class white-Americans who have nostalgia for the 1950s.

Interesting, and I feel very at home being anti-capitalism, not acting like the parasitical viruses humans are on Earth. However, on free speech I am doubtful to what you mean with ‘I don’t believe in free speech’. On a philosophical level I agree that free speech exists almost nowhere, even in nations that call themselves ‘free’.

But actually enforcing by law what is allowed to be written or said is something I wouldn’t be willing to accept… Because, what would happen when the leaders in power suddenly turn against the people? Who is going to decide what can be written or said? If the people have the power - let us say in a socialist state - it seems only fair to not ‘enslave them again’ on an intellectual level, by not allowing free speech or press ;-)

You are spot on about how therapy often blames you for acting like a victim. I was in rehab too, and I had a lot of great discussions about this topic in groups and with the councilors, in which we rarely agreed. I still think it is victim blaming what they are doing, and I disagree with a lot of things in the step-work they advertise. There is a lot of nuance in these things, and you have to understand they will over-exaggerate and magnify anything they say, in order to plant a seed in your mind, to induce friction, and make you think about it. The problem I had is that 95% of addicts in rehab go all the way with embracing the indoctrination, giving up their free will, and accept anything over which they are told to be ‘powerless’ in their environment.

This is the killer of critical thinking and creativity in my humble opinion. I just can’t accept living like that. Feel empowered to make up your own mind, and be grateful for them tickling your senses and provoking new thoughts. But remember: you are not always one putting themselves in a victim role - even when they try to make you think you have been the bad guy all the time during your addiction. The Western world is a wider system that pushes sensitive people over the edge. That’s not your fault, and I wouldn’t let people tell you it was. I had a lot of shitty friends, teachers who humiliated me, and a disability as the cherry on top, navigating life in a world that did seem to make it absolutely clear I wasn’t really welcome or fit in. I was the one causing ‘them’ problems!

That being said: Stay clean no matter what, bad days pass, cravings too. The most disrespectful thing to do to yourself is starting to use any substance or revert to behavior that only cause self-harm. Try a meeting, but don’t worry if you think it feels like a cult. Just use it to get yourself going and drink a coffee with new people over there. You don’t have to commit to doing things forever. I will promise you, after being almost 3-years clean: cravings fade, new habits come, and you will enjoy the freedom and sharp mind of being sober and trying new stuff in life. Be proud of yourself!

edit: Don’t see this message as a defense of feelings of revenge or that holding a grudge is positive, that’s absolutely not what I tried to say ;-) Grudge is a feeling only the person that sits with the grudge suffers from.

That put a smile on my face. It’s exactly what they would do in the world we live in. It’s not like Bezos sees his workers as anything other than ‘fleshy robots.’ Luckily, they have an immune system against rotting. It often saddens me that capitalism motivates a man to prioritize the care of his ‘robot property’ over his own species. I almost puked when I heard him worship Trump, his prophet, in a recent interview.

I can’t imagine these people ever feel real love or happiness. They can’t be so intellectually stupid as to be unaware of the horrors they inflict upon society. Yet, they seem to live happily, with no problems with their conscience while being immoral, unethical, and corrupt. I think they’re even proud of it; it’s just a game in which you eat or are eaten. Predatory and imperialist, but empty and soulless.
