It is interesting: I found myself reading the whole book in part because I was fascinated that at no point did the author lose faith in their position, despite the obvious gaps and whatnot. They clearly believed in their message, at least to a strong degree, and that’s definitely a whole other level of mental gymnastics.

As far as I can tell this book is about how Hillary won 2016 but Trump 1 created a shadow government (maybe?) and split the US legally into a Blue half and a Red half with separate citizenship but it’s still one country? And perhaps the lesson is that it’s better to foment hatred because agreeing on anything is…bad? Impossible? It ought to have been a satire about how our government already pits us all against each other to stay in power. Sagan’s Day is the Blue State replacement for X-Mass because it’s too WOKE and EVANGELICAL. I’m confused about what happened to Christmas too. Is there an overlap with the Futurama universe? Perhaps, perhaps. Oh, and it thinks it’s a gay AF book but constantly dunks on all the non-straight characters because of course it does.
