Doesn’t seem like those are available in Android.
Just installed f droid to check this out. I don’t like it. Way too bare bones and not really intuitive.
I like being alerted to weather events such as warnings and watches. I also like hyper local forecasts.
Nothing really compares to what Dark Sky was, but MyRadar is as close as I could find and I’ve tried all the major and some not so major apps on the Google Play store.
I’ve tried the majority of the weather apps on the android app store, and they’re all just mediocre compared to MyRadar.
Then again, MyRadar is mediocre compared to what Dark Sky was. What an unfortunate situation with that app being bought by Apple and turned into WeatherKit or whatever. That was the best weather app, hands down.
I appreciate the well thought out response!
Why does anyone think Google would shut down Gmail? You’d have to be stupid to think that they would shut down the most used email service on earth, one that is deeply integrated into Google as an ecosystem.
That’s Maddox, owner of The Best Page in the Universe.
I worked in a restaurant and received many Google assistant calls that sounded completely natural.
When I first got email, it was issued by my service provider. Easy. When I got my next email many years later, through Gmail, the sign up process was easy to understand and intuitive.
Having to decide between instances is a huge turn off for would be new users. It’s a weird concept and it even took me a while to understand it, and I’m pretty tech savvy. Lemmy will never take off like reddit until it’s more centralized.
As a new user, I can tell you what some of the big issues are. First, ease of use. Lemmy is not as user friendly or intuitive as something like reddit. Second, lemmy is a dumb name. It’s a stupid point, but shit like that counts.
No, they tend to be correct.
