Fediverse is worse than Reddit. Mod abuse, admin abuse, disinformation, and people simping for literal terrorists.

  • Tried to install Automatic1111 for Stable Diffusion in an Arch distrobox, and despite editing the .sh file to point to the older tarballed Python version as advised on Github, it still tells me it uses the most up to date one that’s installed system wide and thus can’t install pytorch. And that’s pretty much where my personal knowledge ends, and apparently that of those (i.e. that one person) on Github. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Always funny when people urge you to ask for help but no one ends up actually helping.

  • I’ve seen a lot of drone videos over the past years. Those drones often carry only small grenades with a directed warhead. So there’s a good chance that guy just got some shrapnel in not life threatening parts of his body and limped away. Is there also a chance his head got blown off and the body flew off the truck? Yeah. But neither scenario is actually visible in the video.

If this matter is so important to you I’d suggest to raise a feature request for more in depth tags on Lemmy’s Github page, because there’s also a lot of people who draw the line at actual visible gore and want to filter just that out.

  • This was a repeated and somewhat tired topic on Reddit as well. Until we see better tag systems that can distinguish between mild “implicated gore” (i.e. being able to tell the person on screen now likely being dead, despite the lack of visuals) and actual gore (starting with blood, to truly NSFL things like shredded former body parts), I think the NSFW / 18+ tag should be only used for the latter. Ideally there should also be a couple distinct ones for nudity & sex for better filter systems within people’s account settings.

Until then, very sensitive people should just block communities like this and stick to purely news related ones. I come to places like this to follow this war closely, not through the washed out lens of some news article that does not do the brutality of it justice. I want to continue to understand what this war means instead of falling down the hole of apathy, because all I read about are just some words and numbers.
