People like to work with people that look like them, so no surprise there. Women prefer to work with women, men prefer to work with men, and people of every ethnicity prefer to live and work among those of the same ethnicity. There’s been about a thousand studies, plus all of human history to reflect on. The results are always the same: companies with diverse staff tend to preform better, but individual human beings feel the most comfortable when in the presence of people who look and act like them.

Here’s the study, it’s as underwhelming as you’d expect. https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0351865

just kidding

I use that scale. I’ve pulled over 100,000 double shots on mine and it’s still accurate. Nice product.

Right?

“This is not a brand conflict. This is a corporation trying to erase an activist, and this is how corporations bully individuals…"

Oh fuck off. Excuse me while I name myself Star Buckes and start selling bags of coffee beans. I expect that nothing at all will come of this.

No.

I’ve been seeing articles like this one for the past fifteen years, at least. Subterfuge, IP theft, and a smattering of treason here and there. I wonder how many of my own opinions have been influenced by Comrade Chen and Lieutenant Liu.

Not looking forward to the eventual American-Chinese power struggle; I think the US is going to get quite a lashing from that one-party state.
