I have a friend who played a TON of Apex on console, and spent nearly $1000 on it. He moved to PC gaming, and Apex promised cross platform skins soon™. They finally do it, years later, and fuck it up. He lost all his skins, his account was basically wiped of all things he spent $ on. They refuse to help him.
He’d play an Apex clone for sure, but probably not one from Ubisoft.

I very much enjoy the hardcore milsim shooters, too. I used played a ton of Hell Let Loose, and even though it’s a bit more casual Rising Storm 2 Vietnam was always mega fun.
Also, don’t worry, you haven’t oversold the game or anything. Your posts have been extremely helpful, and really hyping me to see if I can get this game to work for me!
I very recently played the 1st, and am currently mid way through 2. All these years later, and 2 still has jarring performance dips… On my 5800X3D and 6800XT… I legit think they made 2 way too heavy for their game engine.
The amount of frustrations is way more, too. I’ve had to load saves so many times because I’m RIGHT behind someone, but instead of a stealth kill, I just slash my sword at their back and alert every one else in the process. Also stealth kills from jumping down on people. There’s like a 1/4 second time window to press sword attack, and all the damn time I just slice at the top of their head, or land on them, both breaking stealth and alerting everyone, again… Just a month ago I never struggled with any of these issues playing the 1st.
I just tried out this game. 0 populated NA servers. I tried a few populated EU servers, but with 180+ ping, it was veryyyy difficult to land shots. And I’m not sure if it is the game design, or ping, but movement felt like I was the puck on an air-hockey table.
A life of solving crimes in these streets is tough, and not for the faint. It’s such a hard life style that my eggs hard boil themselves before I can eat them. Another day, another hard boiled egg washed down with my hidden desk whiskey.
