      This is well done. It’s so hard for people to understand depression if they have never experienced it, and the cruel reality is most humans have a hard time emphasizing with others when they can’t see/relate to the problem

    Also shout out to the people who remind you it could be worse. That always helps deal with a situation.

    you’re sad because someone broke up with you? It could be worse, your parents could be killed in a car accident. Cheer up!

    Congratulations on beating your depression, I will ask no follow-up questions, take your statement at face value and pride myself in knowing that my “just stop being depressed” advise truly helped someone!

    My depression is on hiatus at the moment, but I’m smart enough now to know that it’s not gone and will never be gone. I will enjoy my break for as long as it chooses to last, remain empathetic to my fellow sufferers, and buffer myself up for the next round.
