One has a round face, like a C for crocodile. One has a pointy face, like an A for alligator. Except it’s the opposite of that and makes no sense.

      • It is backwards and dumb. The way I remember is that it’s alligator with the fatty, lower-case Greek Alpha: “a”, which looks round. And it’s crocodile with a sharp, unrealistic C, like this “<”.

There’s probably an easier way to remember, but it worked for me and it’s served me absolutely no purpose to know the difference.

The way I remember is that aligators live in Louisiana. Louisiana was founded by France. The Eiffel Tower is in france. The Eiffel tower is on the Champ de Mars. Champ starts with a “C” and their snout is curved like a “C”.

It’s true! Alligators have a round C shaped snout, crocodiles have a pointy A shaped snout (head? Nose? Idk)

To be fair most people’s faces are not the shape of the first letter of their name either.

You can tell because you’ll see the alligator later, but you’ll see the crocodile in a while
