xkcd comic. Two stickfigures talk to each other the first says:

“managing plurans is second nature to us plurals/multis, so it’s easy to forget that the average being probably has one caretaker pluran for work and one or two tulpas.” “and a little, of course.” says the second “Of course.” replies the first

A line is drawn across the page, below it the text reads: “even when they’re trying to compensate for it, plurans/multis wildly overestimate the average being’s mental fortitude”

We like this, so we made a version that is more inclusive to us, and hopefully others!

Would this be an appropriate board to inquire on the differentiation between Yall and Y’all? Completely out of curiosity as someone from the US south, lexically it’s intriguing.

Sure. We’re not from the US, but it resonated with us, here’s what we have to say:

      [From](https://blahaj.zone/notes/aq2sc3rp0e6l01i8)

We why use “Yall” instead of “Y’all” as a pronoun.

irelephant [he/him]: Hey, I saw yall’s post on fedi (and a few replies beforehand), why did [yall] choose yall as a pronoun if yall don’t mind me asking? You works as a plural as well. And why is y’all with an apostrophe disliked?

Appie. [Pronouns prns.cc/lhlfm] 🇵🇸🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🤎🖤💛💜: “you” for plurals [mainly us, not all] is like “guys” for [some] transfems. While you and guys can be used plurally, “you” reminds us of the singular, and “guys” reminds us of “guy”. Appie are uncomfy about both

irelephant [he/him]: That makes sense, what about the apostrophe though?

Appie. [Pronouns prns.cc/lhlfm] 🇵🇸🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🤎🖤💛💜: y’all is contraction of “you all” yall is alternative mispelling of “y’all” We like to be called “yall” and not “y’all” based on personal perefence. Think of “yall” as neopronoun, completely detached from the english term “you all”.

Some beings prefer to be called “y’all” over “yall”. It all comes down to pereference, which is why we highly recommend reading beings’ bios before inteeacting with them!
