Description from X:
The August 31 post showed Owens and Kirk in leis from their Turning Point USA days, drawing notice because it marked the anniversary of her 2019 wedding at Trump Winery to Farmer, attended by guests like Nigel Farage and Jon Voight. Kirk, the organization’s founder, was killed in a Utah shooting in September 2025. Many pointed out she skipped sharing a photo of her husband—especially while seven months pregnant with their fifth child after an anniversary trip—leading some to call it strange or question her priorities, while others saw it as a simple tribute to a past colleague.

fr, my one experience of having a close friend die unexpectedly really messed me up, I can’t imagine how it must feel to see high resolution videos of your close friend’s violent killing everywhere, followed by his wife grifting of it to launch her political career while selling selfies in the tent it happened in and his likeness becoming a meme
I would feel bad if Candance Owens wasn’t one of the worst fascist grifters out there.
i completely get that, but i don’t want to give into the “don’t be tempted by the sin of empathy” coded thing suppressing the natural urge to feel bad for someone going through a deeply traumatic event (even a deeply evil person)
Yea same, I’ve had people close to me die suddenly way too young and I was devastated for years. I’m still not the same & never will be. I can’t imagine how I’d feel if I was seemingly the only one actually mourning someone & every one else was making merch and setting off pyrotechnics at their memorial service
If it had happened to anyone else it would be a horrific, empty, soulless end but everyone involved is getting exactly what they deserve so whatevs
