Am I like missing something here or why is it so hard to find any help with being employed? What am I supposed to do, just sign up for a random education program and hope I get lucky after 2-4 years? Or am I supposed to get desperate enough to commit crime and then get jailed, where I do some low skill manual labor for 1/2 the minimum wage?

I think what I’m looking for is something along the lines of “supported vocational assessment”, because honestly I don’t know what I’m capable of.
I think that role is more likely to be done by someone other than a union. Could be government, non profit, charity, maybe a school, something else. Variable by geography.
Could try posting in the mutual aid comm asking for help to see if someone can direct you to something specific in your region.
If you want to try to look on your own, could try web searching vocational assessment, job search help, employment services or however it might be called where you live. Call whatever comes up and ask them even if its not perfect match because they might know where to send you. I would avoid any for-profit entities as likely scams.
If you haven’t done much or any work I’d suggest trying to get any job you can and seeing how it goes. That’s how most people do it. There’s not really any test you can take that tells you. Realistically most peoples job prospects are dictated by their class and social position.
