I’m trying to learn and lean more towards frugality since things have been getting too expensive and would love suggestions
What i like/aim to learn
- anything simple that can be made with chickpea without adding too many of other stuff
- overly time consuming to prepare i will avoid for now so i stay motivated to learn
- willing to learn baking (prefetably if it goes well with flaxseeds/mashed banana or some other very accessible binding)
I want to keep it healthy so pairing legumes with grains/seeds/nuts (though nuts less accessible atm for me to overly rely on it)

Samin Nosrat’s Salt Fat Acid Heat is one of the best books on cooking (note I didn’t say cookbook) I’ve ever read, and I am professionally obsessed with food. It does have recipes, but the message of creativity opens you up to just being able to figure out stuff for yourself, and being able to identify what a dish needs is so much more important.
The Netflix miniseries is OK, too, if you want a sample of what it’s about.
Just FYI, it mentions animal products.
I read elsewhere in the thread you have a rice cooker. There’s tons of recipes with it that require near 0 effort on your part, too! And if you’re able to have rice around, fried rice with frozen veggies has always been my go-to when I want to save some money and don’t have the energy to make something more elaborate.
To hop onto books about cooking that improved my cooking. Ratio. That book is great for teaching you to bake things with a wider variety of ingredients
