The fact that Syril is a whiny pissbaby is great because right-wingers have zero media literacy beyond aesthetics, and if you make a guy who sucks but looks cool and powerful they’ll just glamorize him. It’s also just a more realistic depiction of what life for a fascist under fascism is likely to look like, no matter how much of a true believer you are you’ll still be a disposable cog in a system that doesn’t give a shit.
