i think it’s more that politicians in the us were trying to make it such a big deal. renaming streets and building statues to a man who wasn’t really all that well-known but did spend a lot of time around those congresspeople. that’s what made the kirk memes so funny imo. same thing that happened with 9/11
At the end of the day I feel like the only person who has managed to successfully instrumentalize Kirk’s death so far is Candace Owens, and she’s using it against other right-wingers.

Are you serious? Candace Owens is on top of the right-wing grifter world right now. None of her videos or livestream VODs get less than a million views. She doesn’t get much airtime on Fox News etc because of her anti-Israel stuff but she’s definitely not fading into irrelevance. If anything, she’s dabbing on the Daily Wire’s grave.
