People obviously don’t understand the consequences we face and the sacrifices we make when we transition. Being trans isn’t easy.
But we do it anyway, because the alternative is to be miserable.
It makes no sense that being trans would just be some trendy choice. I was born in the body of a white man, the most privileged and easy mode existence, and chose to trade that in for being one of the most marginalized and hated types of women in society? That’d be like winning the lottery and giving the money back so you can live in cardboard box instead.
