As much as I wouldn’t be surprised if JKR was actually trans, I don’t think it’s ever good to invalidate someone’s identity. She clearly has a lot of issues with femininity and gender, which definitely factor into her feelings about trans people. Her hatred is undeniably rooted in internalized misogyny, but whether that means she would actually be happier rejecting femininity all together is not for us to say.
