    Fun fact, Verhoeven purposefully sought out attractive but shitty actors, soap opera rejects etc., as a joke.

    Also, take a look at all of the adult characters, they look pretty messed up.

      I sincerely don’t think Casper ever got the joke or understood the point of the movie. He did several sequels and seems thrilled about playing Johnny to this day. basically perfect casting.

        I met Casper once at a convention and he very much knows what the films are about. Dude gets to participate in media critical of fascism and have fun doing it, nothing wrong with that.
