The video shows the soldiers reacting emotionally as they get off the bus onto Ukrainian soil. Their first words: “Glory to Ukraine!”, “We wish you peace, only peace!”, “Valya, I’m alive!”, “I love you all! I love Ukraine!”. One of the released soldiers, before throwing the Russian clothes he was wearing in captivity into the trash, demonstratively wiped his feet on them.
Within the framework of the agreements between the delegations of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, which took place in Istanbul, today another stage of the prisoner exchange took place. Fighters released from Russian captivity who are seriously injured or seriously ill have returned to Ukraine. Among those released today are the defenders of Mariupol, who have been in captivity for over three years. All the released defenders are men, representatives of the private and non-commissioned ranks. According to Lubinets, the oldest person released is 59 years old, the youngest is 22 years old.
