what she says: im fine
what she means: the beastie boys band canonically exists in the star trek reboot universe and jim kirk canonically enjoys the song “sabotage” (if nothing else from their discography). however, theres a conflict here since the song "intergalactic (by the same band) references star trek and more specifically spock not once, but twice, with the lyrics like a pinch on the neck of mr spock and “super educated im smarter than spock”. if the beastie boys exist in the rebootverse, does “intergalactic” exist also? and if so, are the aforementioned Iyrics simply omitted or transformed into a seperate in-universe scifi reference to maintain the song’s theme?

concept: amanda grayson is also a classical music fan and named her only son after a fictional vulcan from an earth song
Plot twist, the Beastie Boys are aliens and/or time travelers
I love this take. It reminds me of like that picture of a guy in a hoodie and sunglasses from the early 20th century, or when an older show or movie has a line that seems to refer to the name of something that hadn’t been invented at the time, but it’s actually referring to something else.
Or like when they fix time travel paradox in a story by faking an ‘inescapable’ event.
It’s perfect.
Kirk himself was mentioned in B-Boy Bouillabaisse from the epic 1989 album Paul’s Boutique.
