In Malayalam (I am not a Malayali), we call the sweet-but-juicy spiky yellow fruit chakka or chakkappazham - zh is a unique L sound in the Dravidian language, so it sounds like phalam, means fruit (I think?).
Chakka -> Jaca -> Jack
