The bottom description for Excise Tax is the Customs Tax one
Also VAT is just wrong. It makes it seem like you have to pay for every improvement, which is only true if every improvement is being made by a different company.
This thing seems more like a tirade against taxes wrapped up in “educational” packaging.
There’s other stupid things as well, such as with income tax as something companies have to pay, when it’s actually paid by the employee as well as VAT is directly paid by consumer.
This all seems like something a person with good intentions but zero clue crafted up. Or maybe the intention is to show “hey look how much companies are paying taxes so that you don’t have to”
And payroll taxes being for roads and schools when they’re really for healthcare and retirement (social security).
This is wrong in so many ways. I have to question if the author even knows what he’s attempting to explain.
i like how the example for tax is “keeping the parks clean” instead of “killing brown people in a far-away land” or possibly “funding others to kill brown people in a far-away land”.
I can’t figure out the difference between income and payroll.
You hired your friend. From his salary, you pay payroll tax, your friend pays income tax.
Oh so it’s like double dipping for the government. And if you count sales tax and corporate tax it’s like quadruple dipping or something.
There is a certain amount the government needs for the planned budget. This amount can be collected as one tax, or split into several taxes, or even with a “country monthly subscription for living there” or something. It’s easier to create a fair system with different taxes.
