The full transcript undercuts Hur’s claims that Biden could not remember his son’s death and had “poor” memory

The full transcript of President Joe Biden’s five-hour interview with special counsel Robert Hur’s investigators “paints a more nuanced portrait” of Biden’s memory than the special counsel’s report, according to The Washington Post, which noted that “Biden doesn’t come across as being as absent-minded as Hur has made him out to be.”

The transcript “could raise questions about Hur’s depiction of the 81-year-old president as having ‘significant limitations’ on his memory,” according to The Associated Press.

Hur in his report declined to charge Biden, arguing that it would be difficult to convince a jury to convict with a memory that the special counsel described as “faulty” and “poor,” noting that Biden could not recall when his son Beau died or when he served as vice president.

But Biden said exactly when his son died in the interview.

Wow that was really interesting. Biden comes across as more of a nice old dad than anything else.

He seems pretty sharp and can remember lots of details and the order of specific events after discussing with others. That’s how I generally place things too, I can rarely remember exact dates. I hope I’m that well-off when I’m in my 80s.

My favorite moment of the 2020 campaign was during the debate, Trump was mudslinging something or other about Hunter and Biden full on stopped, looked dead into the camera, and made it explicitly clear how much he cared for his son and would support him through his problems. It was a great thing to see.

It’s a tie with the time when Trump was trumpeting and Biden basically said “whatever, man” and shut him down like a parent to a goofy child.

But I think I’m having trouble remembering the details, so 1) I’m out as prez and 2) anyone remind me?

Agreed. It’s all projection with these dimwits. They wish they were as sharp as Biden, but most of them were in cognitive decline before birth.

He’s had a lot of terrible things happen to him with regards to family, and he strikes me as someone whose tragedies stay close to his heart and remain fresh. He’s very human. I’m okay with him forgetting which year he lost Beau, because I sometimes get mixed up on the year I lost my mom (5 years ago) and I never remember the exact year my dad passed away (20+ years ago).
