LineageOS vs Sailfish OS - Which one?

I will quote ajz’s suggestion for OmniROM, and one recommendation by me being DivestOS.
Other option would be LineageOS, but with that you are stuck with the phone models that are most used in custom ROM community. These will be most likely Xiaomis or Motorolas.
