I have one that is not basic-as-hell but is the one I grew up with… cottage cheese pancakes. I know that probably sounds really weird to someone who didn’t grow up with them. Essentially the cottage cheese in the batter makes them more moist and squishy as opposed to fluffy, if that makes sense. So they’re not as bready I guess? Anyway if you want it, I’ll dig it out and paste it.
We did that with PG&E. Except we did get something in return: lots of dead people.
Mine is not nearly as bad as yours, but it is loud and doesn’t stop beeping when you open the door, just continues until its preprogrammed three loud beeps are over. I muted it when my kids were babies and have never looked back. I think a lot of people worry about muting their microwave because they think they won’t hear when it’s done or something. I’m here to tell you that you won’t miss it. Go forth and rip that speaker out with no regrets.
I honestly forgot he existed

Canada? As if my American ass wasn’t envious enough of you Canadians!
Oooh heartburn be damned, that does sound good!
A couple of my coworkers and I, all musicians, had kids around the same time and we all complained about being able to hear the loop in the rain or ocean “white” noises from various baby machines.
I’m kinda into pizza this way, sometimes. The frozen pizza I prefer has a thick crust kinda like this AI crust. But I 100% understand why people wouldn’t like it; I figure I’m in the minority. At least there’s enough of us that the grocery store sells a frozen pizza that I like.
Oh yeah /r/stupiddovenests was awesome.
I might be wrong and I’m happy to be corrected here. Isn’t it possible to stop getting your period because of high stress on your body? I would guess living through a post-apocalyptic situation might merit that level of stress. But I could be wrong; I have a pretty cushy life all things considered so it’s not like I have direct experience with this kind of thing.
One of the subreddits I miss terribly is /r/divorcedbirds. She would fit in nicely. But someone cleverer than me should come up with a good backstory.
Sometimes work relationship issues, sometimes my kids going through stuff, sometimes politics… always seems to be something. I’m thankful that it’s very very rarely about my marriage.
The IT Crowd creator has stated he does not believe trans women are women and that transgender rights oppress women.
I wanted to make some quip about it being typical but actually not all men think this way or assume they know what women think. And I’m sure some women think this way. But it also tells me all I need to know about this tool. Good riddance.
I don’t have time for nails anymore (though I think I may take my 9 year old for a mani/pedi this summer) so I can’t say what’s trendy, but here’s something I used to love doing. Not sure if French nails are still in but: instead of doing the really opaque white, try a pearl white. Looks way more natural while still seeming a bit elevated. I also personally always choose clear topcoat instead of the pinkish stuff; that stuff looks super wrong on my nails for some reason, like really really wrong. Not sure why.
Generally mine are pretty short. I don’t mind a millimeter or two of white nail but any longer drives me crazy. Honestly getting that long is tough too; usually they chip or split before that. Lately they’ve been splitting while already short which is a huge pain, literally.

Did I do it right? Wasn’t really gonna participate but you deserve it ❤️
Bootcut forever and always. I resisted skinny jeans for a very long time and as soon as I relented, they went out of fashion, sigh. But I don’t care what fashion says and will always own bootcuts.
My dad says my grandmother came up with it, and the way he tells it, she was a marvelous cook. But I’m sure many back in the fifties were all inspired by each other!
When my dad makes them, he makes them pretty small on his griddle, maybe 4-5 inches in diameter. Not like the fluffy restaurant pancakes.
I definitely prefer them over the cakey, bready kind of pancakes (even though I love cake) and I don’t know if it’s because I grew up with them or if it’s because I truly do prefer the denser, more moist texture. I do think I prefer the flavor!
