I’ve heard first hand from parents that they saw news articles like this and always thought how could a parent ever do that to their kid? Then they had a kid and realized it very easily could be them… Sleep deprivation is a torture tactic and kids are supposed to be raised by a large family group of grandparents, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters, cousins and so on that live nearby and can help iut. It’s really just recently that we have super isolated parents like this, where it’s literally the birth parents (or worse, just the mom!) taking care of an infant. It’s literally inhumane…

I’m old enough I only had social media in highschool, and knowing how bad kids are in elementary and junior high I think having access to social media and messaging apps then would have destroyed me. The level of bullying you can pull off with Snapchat or WhatsApp groups is cruel and unusual.
