  • See the F150 Lightning, and the EV Silverado; you can get a regular looking truck that’s electric, but it’s pricey.

Buyers demand range, range is pretty much a function of battery size and aerodynamics, aerodynamics are not especially pleasing to our aesthetics, but they’re cheaper than batteries. For this truck it’s because they designed it from the ground up to maximize space and aerodynamics, so it looks like what it needs to look like to meet those goals. I’d love to see these trucks take over from the behemoths we have currently, but it doesn’t matter that they’re practical, truck guys need the big flashy.

  • Sales figures don’t support it. There is some demand, but not enough to redesign the platform to support 2-door. That’s a consequence of unibody design, 2 door is a completely different engineering from 4 door.

2 door trucks are barely available for consumers these days, you practically have to get them off the fleet lots.

Small electric trucks are coming. Slate is marketing like crazy to drive up demand. Telo is struggling to get to market. CAFE killed small gas trucks. That’s probably OK, electric is more suited for small trucks anyway, just need truck people to understand how much better electric is on small platforms vs 4cyl.

  • Make a new law that a corporation cannot own single family homes and individuals cannot own more than two single family homes, condos, or cabins and the housing issue is solved. People can still have a vacation home, or a single rental property, a few for a married couple, but they don’t get to own 50 homes anymore unless they want to run an apartment complex. I do think there is societal value in rentable single family homes, but it’s gone too far.

Give them one year to divest, and start charging a tax if they don’t that starts at 25% of the homes assessed value, and raises 25% every year thereafter.
