There’s enough voters on the left to defeat the right, you just have to get them to vote. Progressive policies are popular on the left, and when you don’t put them at the front of your campaign, you’re not going to motivate all potential voters to vote, or they’ll vote third-party.

No, the DSA mission is the eventual overturn of a capitalism via democratic process. Plenty of Trotskyists and Marxists in the leadership of the DSA. Even Marx himself wrote in the Manifesto that a transitional period from capitalism to socialism is more realistic rather than a sudden, jarring switch to socialism.
