  • My only comment is that as it specifically applies to medical and surgical interventions (which not all trans people want / need anyway) there does need to be a specific bad thing that is being alleviated to justify the risks of treatment under medical ethics. If there’s a possibility of a bad side effect, there has to be a possibility of a worse thing for not doing the treatment. For a doctor to provide estrogen or conduct an invasive surgery they have to be able to say well it was worth the risk of causing a blood clot or an infection or whatever else because it alleviated the reduced quality of life / risk of depression etc. Speaking of which ladies please do not use nicotine while on estrogen I’ve had a couple patients have strokes at shockingly young ages that way.

this is exactly why I converted to Gnosticism. Mainstream Christianity never sat well with me, atheists are pretentiously #intellectual, and agnosticism just wasn’t loud enough. Now I’m following in the footsteps of Jesus by vibing with the homeless dudes at the bus stop, whipping out a tarot deck when I need to be alone with my feelings, and drawing weird sacred geometry that makes people uncomfortable even though it’s shit they learned in middle school. 10/10 highly recommend.

  • Imma come out and say it: they’re old timey versions of copper coils or orgonite pyramids. Gnosticism got kinda big for a while and people were buying curses and prayers and stuff from people to write on little bits of broken pottery like little curses you’d write on scraps of paper in middle school. Somebody out there figured out how to weld little metal sacred geometry figurines and people were buying them because they look cool and some of them probably thought they’d resonate with the vibrations of the universe to cure dysentery or whatever.

  • mine is r/nursing. there’s just not a significant enough presence of any healthcare workers let alone nurses specifically for me to properly commiserate with. Every once in a while I get into a mood to post some memes or otherwise engage but I get a few likes and maybe one comment at most and wind up giving up after a few days.
