one of our sister hospitals is trialing an AI that records audio of you talking through your patient assessment then creates a flowsheet column automatically. it’s opt-in / the patient has to agree to it and only keeps the recording until the nurse has validated the data but it does seem strange to me.
a few weeks ago the cat jumped up on the couch behind me to start gagging right over my head. it was a whole new level of Audacity that I never even knew existed.

I mean we’ve already accepted that we don’t know how big the universe is. The way physics has been going lately the universe might actually be bigger than reality.

if there’s higher dimensions they’re still part of the universe as I know it, they’re just not in the parts I can perceive. There’s very little useful speculation I can do in relation to the parts I can’t perceive. Apparently this is called “existence monism,” so this would be one of the other things in the Wikipedia theology tree. personally I would classify it as a type of Monolatry.
why are they booing you? you’re right!

lol I actually teach violence deescalation w physical skills to inpatient psych workers and I start every class with “I don’t even know any marshal arts I’m a pro at exactly 2 things: 1) running away screaming, and 2) ganging up on people, and that’s what I’ll be teaching you today.”

My only comment is that as it specifically applies to medical and surgical interventions (which not all trans people want / need anyway) there does need to be a specific bad thing that is being alleviated to justify the risks of treatment under medical ethics. If there’s a possibility of a bad side effect, there has to be a possibility of a worse thing for not doing the treatment. For a doctor to provide estrogen or conduct an invasive surgery they have to be able to say well it was worth the risk of causing a blood clot or an infection or whatever else because it alleviated the reduced quality of life / risk of depression etc. Speaking of which ladies please do not use nicotine while on estrogen I’ve had a couple patients have strokes at shockingly young ages that way.
oh hey!
(the worst part is my mental health comm is over here 😬 and if this all goes up in flames I gotta find another instance that has a wiki 😮💨)

It doesn’t hurt that blue has been my AuDHD special interest for two years now.

The fucking nursing assistants at work were showing each other pics instead of listening to shift report. Watching the public reaction to this event has been wild. I like the Gianmarco Soresi bit: “a lot of my conservative friends are starting to like the idea of free healthcare, and a lot of my liberal friends just got reeeal OK with guns!” It was also wild watching the press try to make him a bad guy then suddenly turn and try to bury any news when that didn’t go how they hoped. Very uniquely unifying event.
idk but I love freeze dried marshmallows and can never find them anywhere.
this is exactly why I converted to Gnosticism. Mainstream Christianity never sat well with me, atheists are pretentiously #intellectual, and agnosticism just wasn’t loud enough. Now I’m following in the footsteps of Jesus by vibing with the homeless dudes at the bus stop, whipping out a tarot deck when I need to be alone with my feelings, and drawing weird sacred geometry that makes people uncomfortable even though it’s shit they learned in middle school. 10/10 highly recommend.

Imma come out and say it: they’re old timey versions of copper coils or orgonite pyramids. Gnosticism got kinda big for a while and people were buying curses and prayers and stuff from people to write on little bits of broken pottery like little curses you’d write on scraps of paper in middle school. Somebody out there figured out how to weld little metal sacred geometry figurines and people were buying them because they look cool and some of them probably thought they’d resonate with the vibrations of the universe to cure dysentery or whatever.
mine is r/nursing. there’s just not a significant enough presence of any healthcare workers let alone nurses specifically for me to properly commiserate with. Every once in a while I get into a mood to post some memes or otherwise engage but I get a few likes and maybe one comment at most and wind up giving up after a few days.
yeah but the combo in one account is an attractive idea. ty for answering though!
does piefed have a microblogging function? I recently swapped to kbin because I liked the idea of a dual reddit + tumblr style experience but I’m also hearing good things about piefed
Hubs recently put the box next to the toilet and our cat has since taken every chance she can to co-poop with us.
yeah I thought it was a fetish thing
