I know he likes Bruce Springsteen, but he’s not really a music person in general.

disregardable@lemmy.ziptoVegan Recipes@sh.itjust.works•Tofu in crock pot, with a chili or curry?English
0·14 days agoI personally wouldn’t do tofu in a crockpot. For simple “drop meals” I’d recommend an instant pot chana masala or lentil curry. Generally beans and lentils are going to come out better in stews, whereas tofu will come out better baked, like in this simple tofu curry or special occasion tofu tikka masala.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why doesn't the United States have universal healthcare by now? (Serious)
5·14 days agoTo be clear, the guys who voted against it in 2010 were literal 70 year old boomers who were raised in McCarthyism and scared of communism. Like actually cited that “it’s too communist” as a reason to vote against it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is asking for letters with your name and address as verification outdated?
2·27 days agoI get a reasonable amount of mail. Like a few pieces/week. You could also use a lease/print out the utility bills in your name.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is everyone in America just constantly crashing out right now, or acting normal by their standards?
25·27 days agoBehavioral standards plummeted during the pandemic and never recovered. People are a lot more stressed, and they refuse to behave. We’re divided, and it really does not help that our leadership literally believes that AI is going to replace most jobs.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Which war do you think this one will be compared to? (This is an excuse to name your favorite war, historical analogies are not expected to be analytical so just wing it.)
9·27 days agoI don’t know that this has an appropriate comparison. Right now it’s more like the US committed a terrorist attack than a war.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Lemmings who work in Emergency wards at hospitals, do you do therapy for work related issues?
2·1 month agotherapy is not a magic “make the trauma go away” button. nobody is designed to experience high levels of stress that frequently. all anyone can do is tolerate the traumatic role for as long as they can and then transition into a more comfortable role when they can’t deal with it anymore.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•I consider myself as a left-libertarian who supports limited government and direct democracy. Can left-libertarians support limited government?
1·2 months agoI’m a little confused on what basis you mean left, because without strong government there aren’t going to be any checks on capitalism, discrimination, abuses, etc.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•online, what is the most unheard of country (prob by american standards) youve heard of someone being from?
1·3 months agoone time when I was talking about a video I saw about Moldova, someone commented “I rarely see people know about my country”. Moldova is on Ukraine’s southwestern border (so opposite of the Russian side). It’s mostly impoverished rural backwater, and its city is in decay from the soviet era.

the average person doesn’t eat much if any vegetables, leafy greens, or fruit, which fill up your stomach much more than meat or bread.
