Yes it is. And you can look up a video on how to install it too. There isn’t a GUI, just a text editor. And you set launch parameters for it to show up in steam. Or lutris has the option for it in settings.

I have almost the exact setup you have, except the RAM and I’m using heroic launcher. I have no issues with CP 2077 My go to with game issues is to monitor the components in game. Install mangohud, configure the OSD to show CPU temps, gpu temps, clocks and also usage. That will help narrow down if the issue is hardware or software.

I was playing Genshin and ZZZ with no issues before the latest update. I tried just running the genshon exe but it said I needs the launcher.

I ended up buying the loop experience 2 since those are specifically for concerts and are a little cheaper. I have a concert coming up in a few weeks, I’ll let you know how they work!

I had a 3070 and now I upgraded to a 4070 ti super and havent had issues with either. Maybe I got lucky but I never understood all the negative views on nvidia and Linux.

Thanks for the info. I’ll make sure to double check all that before. I have another question. If I edited fstab to add mounting hard drives on boot. Will I have to redo that when I hook my drive up to a new mobo? Or will the drive UUIDs and mount paths be the same?

Others say that I can drop my is drive into a new PC. I’ll back it up and try that, if not I’ll just do a fresh install.

That seems to have worked. Tbf, your original comment displayed as “pactl load-module module-switch-on-connect” Which indicates 2 seperate commands.

“Pactl load-module” outputs “you have to specify a module name and arguments.”

I duck go’d that command and it seems like it’s for pulseaudio. The latest mint release uses pipewire for the audio server. Is the command different for that?

I’m on Linux mint 22 and my audio outputs don’t change automatically. When I plug in USB headphones, audio won’t output to them unless I manually change it in settings.

Also, why can’t I interact with the panel applets (on the right side) while I’m in game? For example: I’m playing a game, I plug in my headphones, I have to manually change the audio output so I hit the “windows” key to bring up the panel, but I can’t interact with any of the applets on the right side of the panel (I can’t select the audio icon and change settings from there). I have to search audio settings in the panel then alt tab to it. It’s really cumbersome

I have Linux mint on my gaming desktop and it’s been great. I’d say that is a good entry point. But i tried a couple distros via live USB before choosing.

I tried my best, but it’s a no go. As I mentioned, I’m a smooth brain linux noobie… the only dmix devices I have are PCH, and a bunch of different Nvidia ones. I tried setting the device to PCH and Nvidia but nothing worked. I’m just going to find a different solution. Thanks for the help tho
