All of the examples given are specifically terms that have to do with more conservative adjacent ideologies. If the words were things like “bet” and “cap” I’d have a different opinion. I believe you have missed the subtext of this meme entirely.

I think my father in law still believes Hurricane Katrina was a punishment to the people of New Orleans from God Himself. I’ve never heard him say similar things about other natural disasters though.
“I think the demon attached itself from you. If God favored you then He’d protect you from them, I think someone in your family is harboring a Dark Presence. We’re unequally yoked.”

Given the way society is currently set up, if we pursue space colonization then it’ll become a luxury for billionaires to escape an unlivable planet. Worse, the hoards of the capital will have even less desires to fix things.
(This is not some doomer or accelerationist take, just hating on billionaires.)

Reminds me of the Presidium from Mass Effect 1 and the Stranger from Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye.

I rewatched Inception recently, it’s interesting because it has this trope centered in the plot. Cillian Murphy’s character, Robert Fischer Jr., had a father like this, and while he never believed in his son (at least as far as we’re revealed), the plot centers around having him believe that he did.

The jort is the superior jean!
And they say they can’t catch criminals if end to end encryption exists. All this was over email in plaintext with their primary addresses.

Many cities had public transport that was demolished for cars. Atlanta had a lot of streetcars. Now the only streetcar it has is sort of a joke. (It’d be less of one if there was better coverage though, but I fear it’s unlikely to get buy in.)

Also, EVs have the potential to basically be “100% efficient” if they happen to be charged by solar. With combustion engines you’re never going to get any sort of improvement, it’s just always what it is.
I like movies so much, I watch them at half speed! Twice as much movie!
The star gate scene has essentially transcended parody and basically become visual language for someone transcending reality. I wonder if I can transcends into this post a fourth time?

Just threads? Not a chat room or DM?
Edit: Just tried this on DMs and chat rooms and it works. Thanks so much for the tip! Another successful usage of Poe’s Law, the best way to find an answer on the Internet is to post incorrect information and wait for someone to correct you!

Sometimes I miss Microsoft Lync, but not often.
I made this comment as a joke but I actually do miss that chats could be in separate windows. s far as I know most major corporate (and non corporate, looking at you Discord) chat platforms don’t let you pop out windows.
Edit: Okay, it’s just Discord that’s the problem then. It sort of supports it in that it will open the chat in your web browser, but then it does weird things like play the notification sound twice.

My interpretation of the image is, “we consume x per year, we estimate there is 328x in the Appalachian area.”
They’re black with white and black stripes.
