  • It is possible to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on a yacht

A massive waste of resources and damaging to the planet. Something a sociopath would acquire.

    billions on space travel

Cool. Let governments do that then. We don’t need to corporatize space.

Infinite Growth is good for board members and shareholders.

Infinite growth in a finite system is cancer. It kills the host every time

Growing the hoard can be it’s own game similar to idle games or gatcha games.

When the horde you’re growing is resources other people need to survive you can go fuck yourself. Go play a gatcha game instead.

  • If I had a billion dollars I wouldn’t work another fucking day in my life.

Billionaires have more money than they could ever spend, and spend so much time and effort trying to increase the size of the hoard and make sure they don’t have to pay an extra fraction of it in taxes. It’s a sickness.

You don’t become a billionaire without being mentally ill, and for some reason we think the mentally ill are the most fit to run corporations.

  • patenting, copyrighting, or trademarking concepts or mechanics in video games shouldn’t be allowed at all

It’s not allowed at all in board games. There’s a known issue that someone could completly copy the mechanics of a board game, and as long as they don’t copy the art or the exact text of the rulebook there is no legal means to stop it.

Boardgamers are aware of this, and agree that it is better for development of future games than if someone could own the idea of “rolling a dice”, so if knockoffs do come around they tend to quickly get called out and not purchased.

I don’t know how videogames managed to get different rules.

  • When I first started using Linux I was impressed with how easily everything seemed to work. Then over time I started to get annoyed with all the things that I had no idea how to fix without looking up, and thought about going back to Windows.
Then I used windows again and was immediately reminded of all the stupid bullshit I had to constantly fight with and forgot about because that was just the norm when windows is the only OS you ever use.

  • A couple things stand out to be from that response:

    1. the original post doesn’t mention Republicans at all. It’s like someone making a post against dictatorships and getting an essay and how “these anti-Trump posts are unhelpful.”
If something so cartoonishly stupid or evil is so clearly about a given group or person, that’s an issue.

    2. the reply literally says “they don’t want leopards eating faces, they just refuse to listen to people trying to stop leopards from eating faces” which for all practical purposes is the same thing. “We literally tried to stop this exact thing from happening that is now happening to you, and you refused to listen and made fun of us” is a fair criticism to make.

    3. “they believe bad things will happen anyway” except the bad things that are currently happening were not happening before, and they were predicted to happen by the people trying to stop this that weren’t listed to. Citizens who haven’t been charged with crimes weren’t being deported before Trump took office. People said Trump would be a dictator and where dismissed as “fear mongers” by the people who thought "bad things happen anyway, don’t fight it’, and through their actions actively helped bad things happen. Which brings us to:

    4. what are they suggesting people do? Pussy foot around the most aggressively rude and ignorant people who not only refused to listen but actively insulted those who tried to warn them this would happen? You think these people are going to listen if you keep turning enough cheeks? Man who’s wife was deported doesn’t regret voting for Trump

You try to meet someone supporting a fascist regime half way and they start stepping backwards. These are the people that when “first they came for the socialists” they cheered and celebrated. Next when they come for them I’m going to speak out, but I’m also going to tell them “this is the exact thing people were trying to warn you about!”
