They had been talking about it this goal and making lists of families and people who’d need assistance, atleast 3 years ago. So this is not just a sudden PR thing too.

The recent Diwali celebration saw a lot of firecracker usage and it had an effect of spiking AQI.
Many were talking about it on the net and the Hindutva nationalists mentioned other stuff like how vehicular pollution and stubble burning had greater influences and called it hinduphobia and were going like ‘We’ll burn more firecrackers’.

As people understood, the AQI went from bad to worse.

Our country is currently ruled at the centre by the RW B J P govt. They’re pretty anti-Muslim

The official stance of India has been support to Palestine from almost the the 1980’s and India still generally votes favoring Palestine in the UN Assembly.

But the Hindutva nationalist accounts on the net generally cheer against Muslims.

We do have leftists and liberals, but the RW party has been in power at thecentre for 11 years now. So they’re in all levels of power and supporters online tend to be like this because of that confidence.

Maybe preys to the tactic of pitting people against each other.

I think people who don’t get proper healthcare may have an issue, if it is portrayed as resources being diverted and hey don’t understand that they are being misled to hate others rather than ask why everyone is not getting it.

Would a mask help during the damper months?
Or would it be counterproductive if it ends up capturing it on mask? I have no experience in this, but during the post-covid time, by wearing a mask(even a cloth one) I noticed a lot of the stuff that’s in our air, from vehicle smoke to dust from construction work.

I think the best option would be finding their uses/needs and tailoring the approach to that.

I think helping them with backing up settings and data would be a good thing too.
It’ll be a good start, to get them to know the need and importance of backups. Backups could also make them more confident in trying out stuff. Like, knowing that they can come back to the backup if things go wrong.

I came here around the same time too.
I remember registering in Mander or so earlier, but didn’t about the fediverse and forgot the account.

I still use reddit because of the local communities, but I like lemmy a lot more.

Learnt more about leftism and the general culture seems much better here(Likely due to the size of the communities, the mods and the logs being transparent)
