I think this video by FD Signifier discusses some of it. Basically, older black folks are happy with the consistent “devil they know”, and aren’t looking to rile up the whites, even is the policies sound better. The establishment have also developed inroads into their communities in ways that white “progressives” (and such) have not done successfully. Also they are boomers who watch too much cable news.
