The explosion of the structure, around which the occupiers had built a real cargo cult, occurred on June 3, at 4:44 a.m. According to the SBU, the operation lasted several months. The agents mined the bridge supports, and later, without any casualties among the civilian population, they activated the explosive device. The underwater supports of the supports were severely damaged at the bottom level due to 1,100 kg of explosives in the TNT equivalent, say Ukrainian special forces.

The bridge is actually in a state of emergency, the SBU reported. “The laying of more than 1 ton of explosives, and this is only the explosive substance itself, without the hull, could hardly have been carried out with the help of swimmers. One of the few options is the use of underwater drones. Moreover, this series of developments has not been heard of for quite some time, despite their promising prospects,” experts write. One of the most likely options in the material is the underwater drone “Marichka”. “Marichka” is a multi-purpose strike underwater unmanned aerial vehicle of Ukrainian production.

The drone is designed to destroy a wide range of targets - boats, ships, bridge supports, coastal fortifications. In addition, it can be used for reconnaissance or cargo transportation. “Marichka” is a development of AMMO.UKRAINE volunteers. The creators of the platform stated that they had united Ukrainian scientists, analysts, and military experts to create an “Army of Underwater Drones”, which will be based on the large autonomous submarine “Marichka”. On August 24, 2023, it was announced that a new strike unmanned aerial vehicle had been successfully tested. For the first time, it was an underwater one. A few days later, on August 29, a video recording of the device’s tests was released.
